Agile Transformation in a Global Tech Environment

🎯 Objective

Improve team delivery, communication, flexibility and sprint predictability by introducing Scrum and leading an Agile transformation for the SharePoint development team.

🧩 My Role

• Scrum Product Owner leading a distributed team (5 developers in India, 1 in Germany.

​• Responsible for backlog management, agile coaching, sprint execution, and stakeholder alignment.

🔍 Challenges

  • Lack of clear sprint structure and backlog prioritization.
  • Frequent misalignment between technical and business teams.
  • Low predictability and delivery delays.
  • Missing of unclear user stories and acceptance criteria.

🚀 Actions Taken

  • Introduced full Scrum framework including backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives in close collaboration with project stakeholders and team members.
  • Created and maintained a refined product backlog aligned with business goals and technical feasibility.
  • Facilitated cross-team collaboration with UX designers, business analysts, and stakeholders across Germany, India, Singapore, and the U.S.
  • Established a "definition of ready" and "definition of done" to improve clarity and focus.
  • Tracked and analyzed team velocity to optimize sprint forecasting and resource planning.
